PROGRAM INTRODUCTION
Nancy Gwili Beckloff (NGB) Grant Program
Born to sharecroppers in Oklahoma during the Great Depression, Nancy Gwili Beckloff understood that the performing arts were often a rare luxury, accessible to her only through high school drama. Yet, she remained a true "theatre kid" at heart for her entire life.
After marrying the town doctor and raising two children, she relocated her family to Atlanta, where her passion for the arts flourished. For over twenty years, she was a season ticket holder at the iconic Fox Theatre, a devoted fan whose favorites included Porgy and Bess and The Phantom of the Opera.
Nancy’s dedication to her family and the arts was boundless. She frequently traveled across the country just to watch her granddaughters perform before finally relocating to be closer to them. As the Bravo Players Foundation’s very first sponsor, her unwavering belief laid the groundwork for everything we do.
Though Nancy lost her battle with Alzheimer’s in 2022, her legacy provides the ultimate gift of Access. Through her generous endowment, this grant program ensures that financial barriers never keep a child from the stage, proving to the next generation of theatre kids that Nothing Is Impossible.
